2011 Whitehorse Poetry Festival
Karen Solie’s first collection of poems, Short Haul Engine (Brick Books, 2001), won the BC Book Prize Dorothy Livesay Award and was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Award and the Griffin Poetry Prize. Her second, Modern and Normal (Brick Books, 2005), was shortlisted for the Trillium Poetry Prize and included on the Globe and Mail's list of the 100 best books of 2005. Her third, Pigeon (House of Anansi Press, 2009), appeared on that list in 2009, and won the Pat Lowther Award, the Trillium Poetry Prize, and the Griffin Poetry Prize.
